I thought he was going to offer me a big deal with a signing bonus…” She pauses, and her hands twist in her lap. “I sent him some samples to read, and he called and asked to talk with me. “My dad set up the meeting for me.” She shrugs. “Well, if it’s anything like football, to even get an agent to meet with you is a big deal.” I straighten my shoulders, coming to attention.
